href="http://www.dreamcheeky.com/">Dream Cheeky is set to release a new VOIP handset modeled after the communicator from the original Star Trek series. It’s not wireless, but plugs into your computer via USB, which kinda of detracts from the charm. You can, of course, use it with your choice of provider, be it Skype or Vonage or any of the other hundred vendors.

I’m honestly a bit excited. Now my Star Trek role playing sessions will be that much more realistic.

“I… can’t hear you, Bones. You’ll… have to speak up.”

“Dammit Jim, I’m a doctor, not an orator!”

“Captain’s log, stardate 62527.2. I’m… trapped in a female’s den. There seems to have… been some mis… understanding about something called… chores. I’ve been trying to reason with the creature, but… to no avail.”

“Marian, I told you no computer until you mow the yard!”

“I… have to go. The female seems agitated. I’d better… do as she says to… avoid further conflict. End log.”

Via <a
