So, I got this email from the registrar today, and it just drips with hostility. Read along and see if you agree.

(I read the extra spaces as pauses where the writer is trying to give me the stink eye down the web-o-tubes)

edit: added subject, equally disturbing

Subject: Fall Term is Paid (for now)

Good day,
This note is to let you know that you are registered for classes and your schedule has been “paid” either with a legal means of payment, with financial aid, or through a contract.

I write to let you know that you are registered and paid, lest you think you are not, and thus, expect your schedule to be removed at some point. As it stands right now, we are expecting you to attend fall term.

If you agree with this assessment, you need not write back. Just start classes on time and continue with the term.

If you do not plan to attend this fall, please remove your courses, or let me know and I’ll do it. There are many student seeking seats and if you aren’t coming, it would be good to open them up.

Otherwise, thank you for registering and taking care of payment, and we look forward to serving you this fall.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything.

Regards,
Steve H.
Registrar
