Star Trek: TOS Communicator Makes VOIP Extra Nerdy
Finally, a way to make talking on the phone over the computer even more nerdy (not that there’s anything wrong with nerds, ladies).
In honor of the new Star Trek movie, Dream Cheeky is set to release a new VOIP handset modeled after the communicator from the original Star Trek series. It’s not wireless, but plugs into your computer via USB, which kinda of detracts from the charm. You can, of course, use it with your choice of provider, be it Skype or Vonage or any of the other hundred vendors.
I’m honestly a bit excited. Now my Star Trek role playing sessions will be that much more realistic.
