More Efficient Solar Power By Super Soaker Inventor

February 9th, 2009 Posted in Uncategorized

Super Soaker

You remember Super Soakers. Brilliant invention. So simple, but no one ever thought of using it for a toy. Well, the mind that brought you those wonderful summer days may soon be powering your house with his twist on solar energy.

Dubbed the Johnson Thermoelectric Energy Converting System (JTEC), it works differently than current solar technology. Instead of using the silicon technology, Johnson’s system pumps hydrogen through a electrode membrane, thus generating electricity with a 60% efficiency, versus the 30% of current tech.

Apparently the system could have uses in places other than the tops of buildings, too.

The system should be able to produce several megawatts of power, according to Johnson. It could also harvest waste heat from internal combustion engines, turbines, and even the human body.

Remember that quote when we’re all in the Matrix.
